Founded in 2020, WEMA, a Swahili word meaning kindness, is a grassroots Community-Based Organization.
WEMA works with youth, adolescent girls, young women, and their families to combat early marriage and teenage pregnancy while promoting school retention, quality education, and access to clean water. It also focuses on socio-health, well-being, and technology for development among its target population.
WEMA’s vision is to see empowered adolescent girls and young women exploiting their fullest potential.
The goal is to influence positive action at individual and community levels through social inclusion and resiliency for sustainable livelihoods.
